¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Hello everybody. Since the coming of the new steam community, I've been thinking about things that could be improved. Not that its necessary, but it would be extremely helpful and useful. I was wondering, why is the friend list so poorly made? I mean, it does the job, but when you have over 100 friends, it quickly become clustered and looking for somebody in particular become a hard task. When you add groups into this, it become a real nightmare. There is 2 way we can solve this. First one: Add a search feature Second one: Add a tiling effect to the friend list, enabling us to see much more friends at once.
The first option don't make the second useless and vice-versa but the adding a search may not work if somebody uses special characters, Both are pretty good solutions to the clustered window we have now. Having both would make it perfect. For those that still don't understand, I'm not asking for a friend list integrated in the overlay, I'm requesting a tiling effect when you resize the friend list window.
Thoughts?
Do you think the idea is doable (from Valve point of view) and would you like to use this?
[Forget about the new Community look in the first pic. Look at the way friends are displayed instead]
